Ultra-hip indie label Sub Pop has signed perhaps the most offbeat supergroup yet. Nick Diamonds of indie rock outfits Islands and Unicorns, Man Man's Honus Honus, and Joe Plummer of Modest Mouse fame have teamed up to form Mister Heavenly, a side project that started out as a one-off instrumental 7" and inadvertently morphed into a full-fledged record. Although Mister Heavenly are keeping details of the album—which will be released in 2011—under wraps, they have revealed that the band's concept was influenced by "a mutual appreciation for doo-wop and doomed love songs," according to the Sub Pop press release. If it were any other band we would be raising our eyebrows right now, but we're hopeful this eclectic trio could make it work. Check out their Facebook page for more information.

Mister Heavenly will be hitting the road for a 10-date tour, which kicks off Nov. 30th in Seattle. They will be opening a majority of these shows for electro-pop outfit Passion Pit. Check out the dates below.
