Suede
Recently announcing a one-off gig at London’s Alexandra Palace on March 30, Suede have revealed new details concerning the band’s first studio record since 2002’s A New Morning. According to frontman Brett Anderson the upcoming effort will be called Bloodsports and will be preceeded by a single called, “It Starts and Ends With You.” In anticipation of both releases Suede is giving away a new song called “Barriers” which has been made available as a free download on the band’s website. Anderson says the track “isn’t the first single but we are proud of it enough just to chuck it out there and thought that it’s pulsing, romantic swell somehow summed up the feel of the album quite nicely .
While no release date has been set for Bloodsports, Anderson says “It’s about lust, it’s about the chase, it’s about the endless carnal game of love. It was possibly the hardest we’ve ever made but certainly the most satisfying. Its 10 furious songs for me have reclaimed from ourselves what Suede was always about; drama, melody and noise.”
