While backstage at the 2011 Coachella Music and Arts Festival, Under the Radar conducted video interviews with some of the fest’s most noteworthy bands. Under the Radar caught up with Suede’s Brett Anderson and Simon Gilbert.

The iconic Britpop band recently reunited and played their first U.S. show in many years at Coachella. In the two-part interview they discuss the band’s relationship with America, whether or not they plan to record a new album, why they reformed, if there will be more U.S. dates in the future, and the deluxe reissues of all five of their albums.

The interview was conducted on the Sony Bloggie HD Camera.

SUEDE….YOU GUYS WERE AMAZING @ COACHELLA!.... Please come back to the US and give us the 3 album tour ...LA AND NYC. No need to see all of America. The rest of America will come to you.

“No need to see all of America”. So, you think there’s only Suede fans on the coasts? Sure, I’ll let the other Chicago/Midwestern fans that have traveled to see them IN London over the last 8 years (I, personally, went to the “last” two shows 7 years ago at Brixton and the Astoria - and then just went back in December for their show at the O2) that we don’t rate as an audience and start saving up again to travel thousands of miles for shows because some a-hole named Axel says we should be gagging to travel some more for gigs. You’re an ass.

I too have traveled all over the world to see Suede/Brett an of course there are fans all over. My statement was meant so it would be economically possible to put such a tour together. Wasnt trying to diss the Midwest or the rest of America. Take a chill pill Wendy cuz youre coming off as the asshole here. Playing the coasts would make it more viable for everyone to get to a show. Suede fans are usually not this hostile and have more class than to revert to name calling. I guess there is an exception to everything.
