Under the Radar favorites The Dears have announced their new album and shared a song from it. The Montreal band's new album, Times Infinity Volume One, has been teased for a while by the band, but now has an official release date of September 25 (it's out via Dangerbird in the U.S.). They have also shared the beautiful and soaring new song "I Used to Pray For the Heavens to Fall," which ends with frontman Murray Lightburn asking/pleading/demanding "Whose side are you on?" The Dears' side, of course, we're always on The Dears' side.

What's more, there's a second new album on the way, Times Infinity Volume Two, due out next year.

Noisey premiered "I Used to Pray For the Heavens to Fall" and spoke to Lightburn about the new album, who admitted that he considered ending the band after their last album, 2011's Degeneration Street (and in 2013 Lightburn released a solo album, MASS:LIGHT). "When you start a band, you never think of the end," Lightburn said to Noisey. "When we began work on this album, it was a process that consumed us completely, harkening back to our earliest days. In turn, the record became about sentimentality but in the face of great uncertainty; the concept of eternal love and all its fragility."

The Dears have also been posting intriguing teaser videos for the album to YouTube. They seem to feature spoken word versions of some of the lyrics, each read by a different member of the band, including Lightburn and fellow founding member/wife/blogger/science fiction writer Natalia Yanchak.

You can preorder Times Infinity Volume One right here, right now and you'll get a free track and T-shirt.
