Come December 22, for one week only, The Flaming Lips & Stardeath and White Dwarfs will release on iTunes The Flaming Lips & Stardeath and White Dwarfs with Henry Rollins and Peaches doing Dark Side of the Moon. And yes that is the title that it will be released under. After the one week there will be a small wait till December 29, where the album will then be re-released on all other participating digital outlets. The project emerged while The Flaming Lips and Stardeath and White Dwarfs toured the world together; as they constantly cited Pink Floyd and The Dark Side of The Moon as a major influence and favorite band of all time. The two bands then invited both Henry Rollins and Peaches to assist with vocals on the cover album. The Flaming Lips and Stardeath and White Dwarfs will perform Dark Side of The Moon on New Year's Eve at the Cox Center in Oklahoma City. This is the only planned performance of Dark Side of the Moon and both bands will also play separate sets of their own material. Tickets are available here
Just in time for Christmas, the Lips are also selling on their website a "Silver Trembling Fetus" holiday ornament that ties into their latest album, Embryonic, and their film Christmas On Mars.
