The Love Language (aka Stuart McLamb) is releasing a new album, Baby Grand, on August 3 via Merge. It's his first in five years and previously he shared two songs from it, "Castle in the Sky" (which was our #1 Song of the Week) and "Southern Doldrums." Now he has shared another song from the album, "New Amsterdam," via its colorful video. Watch it below, followed by the band's just announced tour dates.

McLamb had this to say about the song and video in a press release: "This video follows much of the same DIY ethos as I used while making the first Love Language album: Just do the best with what you have. After our first location and concept fell through last-minute, I decided to make a video myself using everything I had filmed on my phone over the past few years-bits of Virginia, North Carolina, Colombia, southern California, friends, family-and ran the footage through Hyperspektiv using different filters to give it all a cohesive feel. 'New Amsterdam' is ultimately about being stuck in a rut but having such a strong desire to break out of it, whether it's a town you've lived in too long and need a change of scenery, or an on-again, off-again relationship. One of the lyrics was originally 'wish I could forget everything,' then a friend suggested I change it to 'forgive' and that pretty much changed the whole song for me in a great way."

Baby Grand is The Love Language's fourth album, McLamb's first since 2013's Ruby Red. The album was begun in a Virginia hammock factory, but was finished after McLamb moved across country to California.

Of the album and "Castle in the Sky," McLamb said in a previous press release: "It was something just about being in a new city, and a new light, and reopening the sessions, and this demo that I thought was a throwaway, suddenly I'm really feeling it...."
