Let’s face it: what we need in our lives is more Dwight Schrute. At least, that’s how NBC feels. The network announced today that our favorite assistant regional manager…er…assistant to the regional manager Dwight Schrute will be leaving his home at Dunder Mifflin. The network is currently developing a spin-off for Rainn Wilson—set to air sometime in 2013.

“Paul [Lieberstein –show producer] and Rainn have been joking for years about Dwight’s life on the farm, his family and how ill-suited he is to run a B&B,” says one source. “A while ago, it started to feel like a show to them. NBC agreed, it’s been further developed to include multiple generations, many cousins and neighbors.”
