The Shins Share Two New Songs in Honor of Richard Swift: “Waimanalo” and “Trapped By the Sea”

The Shins
The Shins have shared two new songs: “Waimanalo” and “Trapped By the Sea.” They are in honor of their former bandmate Richard Swift, who died last year, and are part of The Fug Yep Soundation 7-inch series, with proceeds going to support the Swift family, as well as the organizations MusiCares and Music Support UK. James Mercer wrote the songs, which are the first new Shins songs since their 2017 album Heartworms and its 2018 companion album The Worm’s Heart, which was a reworked version of Heartworms.
