Smiths Fans Rejoice! (Or roll your eyes at the following consumerist announcement.) The Smiths are releasing a massive box set. And by massive, we mean, pretty much everything the British-mopers ever recorded. (There are probably answering machine tapes buried alongside the back catalogue. We cannot confirm or deny.)

Out October 3 via Rhino Records the limited edition box (3000 copies—grab yours, quick!) features eight albums on both CD and vinyl, (The Smiths, Meat Is Murder, The Queen Is Dead, Strangeways, Here We Come, Rank, Hatful of Hollow,The World Won’t Listen, and Louder Than Bombs) and 25 7’ singles. (Partridge in a pear tree sold separately.) It sounds good too. Smiths’ guitarist Johnny Marr and Frank Arkwright re-mastered all the music from original tape sources.
