Recent snapshots from the set of director David Ayer’s Suicide Squad have revealed something that will make 2016 a very big year for the dark knight. Ben Affleck has been spotted on site in Toronto, where Suicide Squad is filming, in character as both Bruce Wayne and Batman. This gives plenty of reason to believe that Affleck will appear in at least a cameo role in Suicide Squad after appearing in March’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. (via Dailymail.com)

Further Suicide Squad news has broken regarding Jared Leto’s portrayal of Batman’s arch-nemesis, the Joker. It appears that all of the face and body tattoos seen on Leto in the first image of him as the Joker released last Friday will not actually be the way he’ll be portrayed. The image that gave us this first look of Leto’s Joker was actually more of an anniversary celebration of the “Killing Joke” comic. JoBlo reports that the Joker will be covered in scars from battling with Batman, instead of tattoos. Further, the metal teeth will most likely be done away with and the skin will be made even whiter than what we see in the image. Many fans who lashed out at the idea of an inked up Clown Prince will most likely be happier with the final product in Suicide Squad, which comes out on August 5, 2016. (via joblo.com)

The first image of Arrow star Stephen Amell as the vigilante Casey Jones in Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 has been revealed. The photo features Amell with short hair, brandishing a hockey stick as a weapon and an over-sized, seemingly custom-made hockey mask. Considering the Casey Jones always has long hair and is known for being a vigilante who uses sporting goods found around the house, Bay’s rendition of the character seems to miss the mark. But check out the photo and decide for yourself. Directed by Earth to Echo‘s David Green, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will be released in theaters on June 3, 2016. (via Superherohype.com)

According to TVLine, Vince Gilligan will sadly not be contributing to the long-awaited revival of The X-Files on Fox. Gilligan will reportedly be preoccupied working on his Breaking Bad spin-off show Better Call Saul instead, which will start filming season 2 this summer. When The X-Files will return to television is still unknown, as of now. (via TVline.com)

X-Men: Apocalypse began filming earlier this week and director Bryan Singer has not been shy in letting some glimpses of the film in production leak. One of these peeks includes an Instagram post from the director of young actors Lana Condor and Sophie Turner in costume as mutants Jubilee and Jean Grey, respectively. The new film in the X-Men franchise is that it will be set in the 1980s and also star James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, newcomer Oscar Isaac as the villain Apocalypse, and many more new and familiar faces. DC Comics has announced that Frank Miller, the writer best known for his The Dark Knight Returns comic miniseries, will return to complete his trilogy with The Dark Knight III: The Master Race. The eight-issue series will come out in late fall of this year with Miller joining forces with writer Brian Azzarello. Azzarello promises that this new series he will write with Miller will be “an epic story that these characters truly deserve.” (via Screenrant.com)
