Tom Petty doesn't have anything in the works with the Heartbreakers this year so far but he's been plenty busy. That's because he'll be releasing a second album with his old band Mudcrutch and taking them on their first-ever national tour. The new album, which is simply titled 2, was produced by Tom Petty, guitarist Mike Campbell and Ryan Ulyate. It's available now for pre-order at and purchasers will receive downloads of three tracks, including the first single "Trailer," in advance of the release date ("Trailer" will also be part of a Record Store Day vinyl release).

Mudcrutch's national tour starts May 26 in Denver, CO. Tickets for all headline shows go on-sale to the general public Friday, April 1st at 10am local venue time. Every ticket purchased online for the headline tour includes a CD copy of the new album, 2. Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Highway Companion Club Members will have the first access to tickets and premium ticket packages for Mudcrutch headline shows.
