Vampire Weekend and Steve Buscemi Make Surprise Appearance at NYC Easter Parade
Handed Out Chocolate Eggs
Apr 01, 2013 Vampire Weekend
Yesterday during New York City’s Easter Parade spectators were provided a unique synergy of Hollywood and indie rock when Vampire Weekend and actor Steve Buscemi took part in the event handing out chocolate eggs along 5th Avenue. With everyone involved dressed in brightly colored clothes and wearing party hats (or in the case of drummer Chris Tomson, bunny ears), it should be noted that a lot of cameras (and not just the Instagraming kind) were present throughout the process, suggesting that the whole thing may be part of an upcoming music video for the band’s lead single “Diane Young.” Buscemi even took hold a giant, old-timey megaphone at old point to sing part of the song.
Down below you’ll find some footage of Buscemi’s vocals, with other users photos of the event, via Coup de Main. Vampire Weekend’s third album Modern Vampires of the City is scheduled to come out May 14 on XL Recordings.
