Olsen Covers The Everly Brothers' "Since You Broke My Heart" and Spoon Cover David Bowie's "I Can't Give Everything Away"
Angel Olsen was the guest on the Canadian radio show The Strombo Show, hosted by George Stroumboulopoulos. She did a cover of The Everly Brothers' "Since You Broke My Heart" and performed two of her songs, "Lonely Universe" (from Half Way Home) and "Some Things Cosmic" (from the Strange Cacti EP). Spoon was on the same show and covered David Bowie's "I Can't Give Everything Away" (as well performing "I Turn My Camera On," "Can I Sit Next to You," and "I Summon You"). Watch black & white videos of both sessions below.
In 2016 Olsen released a fantastic new album, MY WOMAN, via Jagjaguwar. It made it to #3 on Under the Radar's Top 100 Albums of 2016 list. Last fall she released Phases, a new collection of B-sides, rarities, and demos, including some previously unreleased tracks. It was our Album of the Week. Spoon released a new album, Hot Thoughts, last March via Matador.
