Austra released a new album, Future Politics, back in January via Domino. Now the band led by Katie Stelmanis has taken part in A.V. Club's Undercover series, in which bands pick a song to cover from a predetermined list. They chose Belinda Carlisle's "Heaven Is a Place On Earth," which was a 1987 hit for the former member of The Go-Go's. Austra's take is fairly straightforward, which maybe wasn't quite the right approach, but they get points for giving it a go-go. Watch the cover below, followed by the original.
