Last night Beck was welcomed as the musical guest on The Colbert Report. Before performing “Heart Is A Drum” off his latest album Morning Phase and a web-exclusive of “Heaven’s Ladder” off his sheet music record Song Reader, the L.A. songwriter sat down with the future Late Show host for an interview. Talking about Morning Phase Beck described the record as “good for massages and aroma therapy.” Turning the discussion to Song Reader Colbert joked “Were a lot of your fans coming up to you and saying, ‘I love your music, I just hate you playing it?’”
