Watch: Corin Tucker Band - “Neskowin” Video
Girls Day Out
The same day of releasing their new sophomore album Kill My Blues, the Corin Tucker Band has premiered a semi-autobiographical music video for their track "Neskowin." Directed by Alicia J. Rose the clip follows a young girl as she fakes her way out of a family trip only to get together with her best friend, glam themselves up and catch a ride into the city. Playing at an arcade, flirting with the opposite sex (and same sex), they eventually end the night crashing a concert by their favorite band X-Ray Spex. All along the way the former Sleater-Kinney frontwoman makes a number of appearances, acting as the protagonist's protective mother, a hitchhiker-friendly hippie, and real-life punk star Poly Styrene. "[Rose] knew immediately what the core of the song is about," writes Tucker of the video. "The moment for girls when their bodies have just turned the corner into adulthood. Alicia took that moment and made it into a modern-day rock 'n' roll fairy tale." Click below to watch the video. (via NPR)
