Watch: Death Cab for Cutie - “The Ghosts of Beverly Drive” Video
Band Leads Hollywood Celebrity Home Tour

Death Cab for Cutie
In the black & white video for “The Ghosts of Beverly Drive,” Death Cab for Cutie lead one of those tours of Hollywood celebrity homes they have in Los Angeles. Singer Ben Gibbard is the tour guide, bassist Nick Harmer drives the bus, and drummer Jason McGerr takes tickets. There are little Easter eggs, such a billboard advertising a movie titled “Black Sun” (the title of another recent single) and tour bus company is named “Little Wanderer” after another recent Death Cab single. “The Ghosts of Beverly Drive” (as well as “Black Sun” and “Little Wanderer”) can be found on the band’s latest album, Kintsugi. Robert Hales directed the video (he also helmed the one for “Black Sun”).
Harmer commented on the video to Rolling Stone, who premiered it. “For every great thing about the city and the experience of living there, there is an offsetting negative that, for me, makes my feelings about L.A. a net zero in terms of personal connection,” Harmer said. “The culture of celebrity tours feeds into this…it leaves me feeling cold and indifferent, and we wanted to make a video that captures that feeling of detachment.”
Check out the video below and make sure to pick up Under the Radar‘s current print magazine to read an interview with Ben Gibbard about Kintsugi.
