Watch: Eleanor Friedberger - “My Own World” Video
The Couch Is Yours
The Fiery Furnaces' Eleanor Friedberger has premiered a comically offbeat music video for her single "My Own World," from her sophomore solo album Personal Record, released earlier this year. Directed by Scott Jacobson, the visual stars indie actress Kate Lyn Sheil (Sun Don't Shine), who finds that living with Friedberger in her small apartment is pretty awful, expressing her frustrations to a flute-playing therapist played by comedian, writer, and actor Ted Travelstead.
"This is my fourth collaboration with Scott Jacobson, and we were lucky to have Ted and Kate act in it," said Friedberger in an interview with Rolling Stone. "Kate did an amazing job portraying the isolation expressed in the song and Ted provided the perfect comic relief. As always, Scott managed to lend a touch of humor and playfulness to an otherwise somber song that is essentially about the fear of interruption."
