Cat’s Eyes (the project of Rachel Zeffira and The Horrors’ Faris Badwan) are releasing their sophomore full-length, Treasure House, on June 3 on RAF (via Kobalt Label Services). Now they have shared a video for “Drag,” which at first seems to tackle domestic violence, but then becomes a crazier, more disturbing clip with Badwan and Zeffira (a couple in real life) violently fighting each other at the dinner table. The brutal scenes contrast with the song’s orchestral pop leanings. Watch the James Lawes-directed video below.

Previously the band shared the lyric video for Treasure House‘s “Chameleon Queen,” which features Badwan on lead vocals. Steve Osborne (New Order, Suede) produced and mixed the album, which was recorded at Real World Studios in 2015. Last year Cat’s Eyes also released a soundtrack to Peter Strickland’s film The Duke of Burgundy. Zeffira will also be a guest vocalist on the album by Primal Scream, Chaosmosis (due out March 18).

Violence is awful and damages a person’s personality and general health. What is worst is domestic violence, which shouldn’t be at all accepted. The woman or man should feel loved in the couple, not physically abused and mistreated. These people should be punished accordingly with their deeds. They, of course, have the right at domestic violence bail bonds, but in the end, they must be punished.
