Heathers may not have been a box office hit when it was first released in America in 1989, but it soon became a cult classic. Winona Ryder starred as Veronica Sawyer, a high school student in a clique with the three other most popular girls in school, who all happen to be named Heather. Enter Jason "J.D." Dean (Christian Slater), a troubled loner Veronica falls for. He's also a bit of a psychopath, who plots the murders of the Heathers and various jocks. The whole thing is a black comedy and was written by Daniel Waters and directed by Michael Lehmann. Now it's been remade into a TV series for the Paramount Network, which is getting relaunched on the channel previously occupied by Spike. It premieres on March 7 and now the first Red Band Trailer has been shared. Watch it below.

Grace Victoria Cox stars as Veronica Sawyer, with James Scully as JD and Melanie Field, Brendan Scannell, and Jasmine Mathews as the Heathers. Original Heathers actress Shannen Doherty also appears in the show and trailer, as does Selma Blair. As a fan of the original film, I can't say this trailer gives me much hope that the TV show will come close to matching the brilliance of the movie, but we'll see.
