Watch: Fucked Up - “Queen of Hearts” Video
David Comes to Life out now
Punk rock outfit Fucked Up have released a new video for "Queen of Hearts," taken from their recently released concept album opus David Comes to Life. The album chronicles the life of a character name David. The video shows burning in a distant field, then a schoolteacher instructs the children on what they are to sing. She says "It's about hope, before the war actually started." The gray haze and close-ups of the school children's faces gives an eerie tone and then the male students burst out into a screaming singing chorus conducted by their animated teacher. The girls sit quietly until their turn, ushered by the teacher, in which they reply with "Let's be together." The song ends and the camera pans out to show a full crew filming the performance, erasing the illusion that this is an actual scene. Continuing to zoom out, music still playing, the sky is shown then the camera pans down to show the fire still burning. The viewer can't help but wonder if the war is fictional or reality. Only the rest of the album can tell.
