Watch Jim James Perform “Same Old Lie” on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”
Eternally Even Due Out Today via ATO
My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James is releasing a new solo album, Eternally Even, today via ATO. Previously James shared the album's politically-charged first single, "Same Old Lie" (as well as a trippy video for the song that was accompanied by an anti-Donald Trump statement), which was followed by "Here In Spirit." Last night James stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform "Same Old Lie" with his backing band. Watch the performance below, followed by James' upcoming tour dates.
Eternally Even is James' second solo album, the follow-up to 2013's Regions of Light and Sound of God. It was co-produced by James and Blake Mills (Alabama Shakes). A press release calls Eternally Even "a heart-thumping call to action" and points out that "the timing of its release, smack in the middle of election season, is no accident."
One dollar from every ticket purchased for James' U.S. tour will benefit My Morning Jacket's Waterfall Project, which will donate to the following organizations: Everytown For Gun Safety Support Fund, The Fairness Campaign, and Healthcare Now.
My Morning Jacket released their last album, The Waterfall, in 2015. Read our 2015 interview with Jim James about the album.
