Iconic horror film director John Carpenter released Lost Themes II back in April via Sacred Bones, a sequel to his 2015-released Lost Themes album. Now he has shared a video for “Utopian Façade.” Befitting the director, it features a female android in a TRON meets Storm Trooper type outfit on the run from some zombies and other monsters. Carpenter even cameos at the end, but surprisingly he didn’t direct the sci-fi video, Gavin Hignight and Ben Verhulst directed and produced it. Watch it below, followed by his upcoming European tour dates.

Hignight commented on the video in a press release: “We were instantly haunted upon hearing ‘Utopian Façade.’ It conjured images of jagged tree branches, dark woods and things that go bump in the night. Our goal was to explore these feelings combined with the visuals of the electronic synth driven world established in the ‘Night’ video from the prior album. An android’s nightmare is what culminated.”

Carpenter has long composed music for his films (which include such classics as Halloween, The Thing, Escape From New York, and They Live), but Lost Themes was his first album of original music not recorded for a particular movie and the sequel continues that.
