John Doe of legendary punk band X has been quite busy of late. He recently released a new solo album The Westerner and helped put together a book Under the Big Black Sun about the Los Angeles punk scene. He's also been playing shows with X, who've had guitarist Billy Zoom back in the fold after he got treatment last year for his cancer. Today via Pitchfork Doe shared a video for his solo song "A Little Help" which features Chan Marshall of Cat Power. The video was directed by Dave Doobinin.

"There is beauty & simplicity in hard labor," Doe says in a statement. "Since the days of Woody Guthrie, farm worker rights have been an issue. The song was inspired by the timeless image of workers in the field which we in California see frequently. It was filmed by Dave Doobinin outside Salinas, CA; home of the John Steinbeck Museum. I wanted people to remember that every piece of fruit & every berry they eat was touched by a human hand."
