Singer/songwriter Julien Baker released her new album, Turn Out the Lights, back in October via Matador, her first for the label. It was our Album of the Week and more importantly it was #2 on our Top 100 Albums of 2017 list. Now she has stopped by NPR's offices to perform three songs as a Tiny Desk Concert. For the uninitiated, Tiny Desk Concerts are stripped down sets recorded at the desk of Bob Boilen, the host of NPR's All Songs Considered. It starts with Baker on piano for "Hurt Less," backed by a violin. Then she switches to an acoustic guitar for "Even," also aided by a violinist. Then finally she performs "Appointments" solo on electric guitar, backed by some loops (and then she jumps back on the piano). And of course there is Baker's amazing voice throughout. Watch it below.

Baker is on the cover of Under the Radar's current print issue (Issue 62/Fall 2017).
