Watch Karen O and Danger Mouse Perform “Woman” on “Colbert” Directed by Spike Jonze
Lux Prima Out Now via BMG
Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O and Danger Mouse released a collaborative album, Lux Prima, last Friday via BMG. Last night the duo stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform the album's "Woman," but it wasn't a typical late night performance. Instead noted film and music video director Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, Her) directed the heavily choreographed black & white performance, which featured several dancers and even incorporated Colbert and the audience of The Late Show. Jonze and Karen O have collaborated together in the past. Watch the unique performance below.
Today we posted our review of Lux Prima and you can read that here.
Back in November they shared the album's lush and epic nine-minute long title track, "Lux Prima" (which was our #1 Song of the Week), and announced their intentions to release an album. Then in January they officially announced the album and shared another song from it, "Woman." That was followed by another new song, "Turn the Light."
Yeah Yeah Yeahs' last album was 2013's Mosquito and in 2014 Karen O released the solo album Crush Songs. Danger Mouse has been an in-demand producer for over a decade and also one half of the duos Gnarls Barkley (with CeeLo Green) and Broken Bells (with The Shins' James Mercer).
