Watch: Kirin J Callinan - “The Teacher” Video Featuring Connan Mockasin
Callinan's Sophomore Album Due Out Next Year Via Terrible

Australian experimental musician Kirin J Callinan is releasing his sophomore album sometime next year via Terrible Records. A title and exact release date have yet to be announced, but now we have the amazing video for the album’s lead single, “The Teacher.” The song and video features New Zealand’s Connan Mockasin on backing vocals (and he also plays sax in video). The clip has a strong ‘80s feel, à la The Police’s “Don’t Stand So Close to Me,” with Callinan a student seemingly involved in an inappropriate relationship with Mockasin the teacher. The whole thing is very tongue-in-cheek, bordering on Flight of the Conchords-type parody. Except that the song is actually rather good too, in a Mockasin/Ariel Pink kind of way. Check it out below via The Fader, who premiered it.
