Watch: LUH (Lost Under Heaven) - “Lament” Video
Spiritual Songs for Lovers to Sing Out Now via Mute
LUH, which stands for Lost Under Heaven, is the new band from ex-WU LYF frontman Ellery James Roberts and Ebony Hoorn. The duo released their debut album, Spiritual Songs for Lovers to Sing, earlier this year via Mute. Now they have shared a video for "Lament." Patrick Blades directed the clip, which features Roberts perform the song on a rundown and perhaps abandoned street, while Hoorn wanders a forest. Watch it below, via Pitchfork.
Blades had this to say about the video: "Although Ellery's 'Lament' seems to foretell of an impending doom, the band's message is more about finding some solace amongst the turmoil and he wanted to reflect this in the visuals which were partly Inspired by Edward Burtynsky's industrial wasteland photos that are simultaneously bleak and beautiful. The band are great to work with, Ellery is a naturally charismatic performer and Ebony gives a sense of balance to his performance."
