Just a few weeks away from releasing their self-titled third album on Sept. 17, MGMT have premiered a short trailer for the record that is in true MGMT fashion, exceptionally weird. Featuring portions of songs such as “Cool Song No. 2,” “Mystery Disease,” “I Love You Too, Death,” “Introspection,” “Your Life is a Lie,” and “A Good Sadness,” the teaser opens with frontman Andrew VanWyngarden waking up and brushing his teeth, only to discover there’s a violent possum in his bathroom. What follows is a practice session that is not only bugged by the NSA, but by a group of aliens called Reptoids, all trying to get an early listen to the band’s new material. Click below to watch.
