Watch: MGMT Get What They Asked For… Shoes
Thousands of Shoes Thrown Onstage at Band at U.S. Open of Surfing
Aug 08, 2011
MGMT
MGMT played a free show on Saturday in Huntington Beach, California for the U.S. Open of Surfing. MGMT band member James Richardson told the rowdy crowd, “Everybody give me your left shoe right now!” Immediately following, thousands of shoes were thrown in the air and on stage. The excited crowd seemed eager to please, even though walking through the masses, every couple seconds an attendee could be heard saying something along the lines, “The only songs I know are ‘Kids’ and ‘Electric Feel.’” Check out the video of the shoes joining the stage below.
