Last night MGMT brought a bit of awkward weirdness to the set of Dave Letterman’s Late Show, where the experimental duo performed their lead single “Your Life Is A Lie” from their forthcoming self-titled LP. While the most striking visual element of the set was watching Andrew Van Wyngarden bang on the kind of cowbell that would impress even Christopher Walken, it was clearly the repetitive and static nature of the song itself that left New York audience a little dumbfounded (listen closely for the hesitant applause at the end).
