Kevin Barnes and of Montreal released a new album, White Is Relic/Irrealis Mood, a couple of weeks back via Polyvinyl. Last night they stopped by Comedy Central’s political satire talk show The Opposition with Jordan Klepper to perform two songs. On the air they did “Soft Music/Juno Portraits of the Jovian Sky” and as a web-exclusive performance they did “Paranoiac Intervals/Body Dysmorphia.” Barnes wore a red ball gown and an impressive wig. Watch both performances below.

Previously of Montreal shared the album’s first single, “Paranoiac Intervals/Body Dysmorphia.” (It was one of our Songs of the Week.) Then there was a video for the song. Then they shared another song from the album, “Plateau Phase/No Careerism No Corruption,” via a colorful video (it was also one of our Songs of the Week).

The band also recently shared a cover of Molly Drake’s “Love Isn’t a Right” for Amazon Music’s dual Valentine’s Day-timed “Love Me” and “Love Me Not” playlists.

The album is the follow-up to 2016’s Innocence Reaches and 2017’s Rune Husk EP.
