Watch Patrick Stewart Return in the First Teaser Trailer for the New “Star Trek: Picard” TV Series
To Air on CBS All Access Streaming Service Later This Year

Patrick Stewart is returning to his iconic Star Trek role as Jean Luc Picard in the upcoming TV series, the fittingly titled Star Trek: Picard, and now the first teaser trailer has been shown. It doesn’t reveal much, except that perhaps Picard had to sacrifice something in order to save Star Fleet and thus left the organization. In the U.S. the show is due to air exclusively on CBS All Access streaming service later this year. Watch the trailer below.
Stewart played Picard on all seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987-1994) and in four subsequent Star Trek movies, ending with 2002’s Star Trek: Nemesis. “All Good Things…,” the series finale of Star Trek: The Next Generation, included a 25-year flash forward that featured an older Picard retired at a family vineyard in France and that seems to be at play in the teaser trailer.
Alex Kurtzman and Akiva Goldsman, who worked on Star Trek: Discovery, are executive producers. The show also stars Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway, and Isa Briones.
Our writer Steve King recently sang the praises of Star Trek: Discovery and you can read that article here.
