Watch: Perfume Genius - “Take Me Home” Video
Walking in Heels

Perfume Genius
Perfume Genius’ Mike Hadreas clearly has something to say when he makes a music video. In his latest effort Hadreas’ strange, outcast perspective is put on full display. Utilizing the track “Take Me Home” from this year’s Put Your Back N 2 It, Hadreas creates quite the contrast in the male/female image by walking in the dark wearing bright pink heels and gaudy rings, all while sporting a oversized football jersey that says “4 Play.”
In an interview with Pitchfork Hadreas says the video was shot in Seattle’s industrial district just a short drive from his house, and that while shooting a few truckers actually whistled at him and his outfit. “It both awesome and nerve-racking,” he says. “There’s a part of me that didn’t really care, and there’s another part of me that desperately hoped I’m pulling it off. I knew that the dancing could look ridiculous, but I’m still secretly hoping that I look kinda hot when I’m doing all these moves. I’m not sure why I want to share the video with people [laughs].” Click below to watch.
