Reggie Watts
Making some rounds promoting his recently released comedy album A Live At Central Park, as well as his upcoming house band duties on the new IFC talk show Comedy Bang! Bang!, Reggie Watts stopped by the offices of Chicago’s A.V. Club to take part in their ongoing “Undercover” series. Selecting “Panama” by Van Halen, a band Watts admits personally gave him permission (though not really) to rework the hit song in his own special way, Watts’ cover is hardly faithful to the source material. Keeping just the one-word chorus, Watts creates his own musical exploration of the Central American country and its watery passageway. Click below to watch. Comedy Bang! Bang! premieres this Friday, June 8 at 10 p.m. EDT.
