Last night Sky Ferreira performed at Los Angeles’ Belasco Theater, effectively closing out the promotion of her debut LP Night Time, My Time. In addition to playing familiar tracks off the record, Ferreira showcased a number of new songs for the audience, even bringing out boyfriend and DIIV frontman Zachary Cole to help her with a cover of Hole’s “Asking For It.”

In a recently published interview with Billboard, Ferreira says she’s currently working on new songs with her Night Time, My Times producers Ariel Rechtshald and Justin Raisen, and has been collaborating with Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie and Andrew Innes. “The reason I like working with them is because there’s absolutely no pressure,” she says of Innes and Gillespie, the latter of whom she refers to as a “mentor.” “It’s nice to walk in somewhere and they’re not like, ‘Okay, your label is harassing me about this and that.’ I set it up without anyone else involved, so we just sit and write in a room and there’s no pressure. It’s also just really cool talking to [Gillespie]! Jesus and Mary Chain is one of my favorite bands ever, so at first I was a little nervous. It’s really nice to meet with someone and not be disappointed by it, to have them meet every expectation.”
