Small Black are releasing their new album, Best Blues, tomorrow (Friday, October 16) via Jagjaguwar. Previously the band has shared the Best Blues songs “Boys Life,” “No One Wants It to Happen to You,” and “Back At Belle’s.” Now they’ve shared a video for “No One Wants It to Happen to You.” Small Black co-directed the clip with William Colby. It intercuts footage of the band performing with shots of photos underwater, which ties into one of the inspirations behind the album (vocalist Josh Kolenik found old family photos when sorting through his parents’ flood damaged Long Island house after Hurricane Sandy). Best Blues is the band’s third full-length, and is the follow-up to 2013’s underrated Limits of Desire full-length and 2014’s Real People EP. The band spent a year recording the album and then enlisted the help of mixer Nicholas Vernhes (Deerhunter, The War on Drugs) to help them finish it.
