Comedy Due Out This Christmas

Five years after their hit mismatched buddy cop comedy The Other Guys, Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell are reuniting in Daddy’s Home. This time they play a step-dad (Will Ferrell) and dad (Mark Wahlberg) vying for their kids’ affections and, of course, they take things too far. Ferrell is the unassuming, mild-mannered step-dad to his new wife’s two kids. When their motorcycle riding, badass, less responsible biological father (Wahlberg) comes to town he feels threatened and the need to one up him at every turn. Hilarity (we hope) ensues. Sean Anders and John Morris co-directed the comedy, which looks pretty broad and heavy on the slapstick. Wahlberg and Ferrell can both be hit and miss in terms of the projects they chose, but The Other Guys was amusing enough so let’s hope they recapture the same magic here. We’ll find out on Christmas Day, when the film is released. In the meantime, below is its first trailer.
