Fan films have come a long way over the years, thanks to developments in digital special effects. Case in point, The Demon in the Dark, a fun new DC Comics fan film that could pretty much pass for the real thing. The premise of the 16-minute long film is simple enough: six criminals are tasked with delivering a mysterious package across town in Gotham City, but a scary new vigilante (aka Batman) starts picking them off one by one. Is he monster or a man, the villains wonder? The film features other DC characters such as Silver Banshee, Green Lantern, Black Adam, Giganta, Deadshot, Bane, and others.

Letia Clouston directed the film (and cameos as the woman in the lab coat in the beginning) and it was written by her husband Matt Clouston (who stars as the leader of the bad guys). Watch it below.

Full disclosure: the Cloustons and their Forewarned Films used to be across the hall from Under the Radar back when we were based in Los Angeles. The roof at the end of the film is the roof of that building.
