Phantom Thread is the upcoming new film from acclaimed director Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, Magnolia). The film stars Daniel Day Lewis, who Anderson memorably directed in the 2007 masterpiece There Will Be Blood, and is due out in select theaters on Christmas Day. Now the first trailer for the movie has been shared. Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood has scored the movie, as he did with Anderson's last few movies (There Will Be Blood, 2012's The Master, and 2014's Inherent Vice). Anderson also directed a documentary on Greenwood's album, Junun, as well as various videos for Radiohead's last album, A Moon Shaped Pool. Watch the trailer below.

Phantom Thread takes place in 1950s post-war London. Day-Lewis plays Reynolds Woodcock, a famous fashion designer who begins a relationship with a much younger woman named Alma (Vicky Krieps) and also has a complicated relationship with his sister Cyril Woodcock (Lesley Manville). Day-Lewis has said it will be his final film performance.
