Harvard psychologist Dr. William Moulton Marston created both the iconic Wonder Woman character and the lie detector (hence Wonder Woman’s Lasso of Truth). He also had an interesting personal life in which he and his wife Elizabeth Marston also shared another partner/lover, Olive Byrne. So it’s no surprise that a movie about Marston has been made. Entitled Professor Marston & The Wonder Women, it’s due out October 27 via Annapurna Pictures. Now the first trailer has been shared, which you can watch below.

The film stars Luke Evans (Dracula Untold, Beauty and the Beast) as Dr. William Moulton Marston, Rebecca Hall (The Prestige, Iron Man 3) as Elizabeth Marston, and Bella Heathcote (The Man in the High Castle, The Neon Demon) as Olive Byrne. Angela Robinson wrote and directed the film. With the runaway success of this summer’s Wonder Woman movie, interest in Professor Marston & The Wonder Women is bound to be heightened, if it’s any good.
