Watch: The Flaming Lips and Amanda Palmer - “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” Video [NSFW]
Conflict-Free Nakedness
In case you may have somehow missed it or outright forgot, The Flaming Lips experienced a significant dust up with musical artist Erykah Badu when the band uploaded an unapproved NSFW music video for their Heady Fwends collaboration "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face." In the video Badu's sister Nayrok was filmed naked in tubs of glitter, fake blood, and some kind of milky white substance, causing Badu to write a long and angry letter towards band leader Wayne Coyne. Seeking a conflict-free do-over the band enlisted the talents of Dresden Dolls' Amanda Palmer, whose given history of statement making nakedness would make little issue with the act of exposing oneself for art. You can check out the new music video below (via the Future Heart).
Coyne and Palmer's next team-up will be for Palmer's "Do It With a Rock Star" music video, which Coyne directed and will most definitely be unsuitable for the workplace.
