Just as they threw their support behind the likes of mainstream pop artist Ke$ha, The Flaming Lips demonstrated their equal-opportunity love for anything weird last night when they appeared as the special guest of Miley Cyrus during her concert at L.A.‘s Staples Center. Invited by Cyrus, Wayne Coyne and Steve Dozd appeared onstage to play a rendition of the band’s classic “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.” Through the performance Coyne held aloft a giant balloon that said, “Fuck Yeah.”
