The Hold Steady released a new album, Thrashing Thru the Passion, last month via Frenchkiss. Last night the band stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers to perform the album’s “Denver Haircut.” Watch the performance below, followed by The Hold Steady’s upcoming tour dates.

Previously The Hold Steady shared Thrashing Thru the Passion‘s first single, album opener “Denver Haircut.” Then they shared another song from it, “You Did Good Kid.” Thrashing Thru the Passion is the band’s first album in five years (since 2014’s Teeth Dreams) and their seventh album overall. The album was recorded with producer Josh Kaufman and engineer D. James Goodwin in Woodstock, NY at The Isokon.

Finn had this to say about the album in a previous press release: “I’ve been saying for a few years now - since Franz [Nicolay] came back- that this six piece lineup of The Hold Steady is the best band we’ve ever been. The new songs recorded by this version of the band are super exciting to us. It’s been a very fun and creative period for The Hold Steady.”

The Hold Steady Tour Dates:

September:

12-15 - Boston, MA - The Sinclair (Sept 13 & 14 SOLD OUT)

December:

4-7 - Brooklyn, NY - Brooklyn Bowl - (December 7 SOLD OUT)
