The National released their excellent new album, Sleep Well Beast, last month via 4AD. It was our Album of the Week. Now they have shared a video for “I’ll Still Destroy You.” Allan Sigurðsson and Icelandic performance and installation artist Ragnar Kjartansson directed the video, which was filmed in Copenhagen, Denmark. The band performs at a bar while Kjartansson does a sort of strip tease. Watch it below, followed by the band’s upcoming tour dates.

A press release describes the video as such: “‘I’ll Still Destroy You’ was filmed in Copenhagen, Denmark during the Aaron and Bryce Dessner created HAVEN Festival. It was shot in one hour at Dope & Korruption, a pop-up bar created by Ragnar offering arancini, chocolate truffles, prosecco, classical music and a sailor striptease. During the video shoot the bar was shut down by Danish security officials and destroyed the day after.”

Previously the band shared videos for the album’s first four singles, “The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness,” “Guilty Party,” “Carin at the Liquor Store,” and “Day I Die.”

The National’s Aaron Dessner produced Sleep Well Beast, with additional co-production by his brother Bryce Dessner and frontman Matt Berninger. It was recorded at Aaron Dessner’s Long Pond studio in Hudson Valley, New York. Additional sessions took place in Berlin, Paris, and Los Angeles. Peter Katis mixed the album.
