The New Pornographers released a new album, Whiteout Conditions, back in April on the band’s own Collected Works label, in partnership with Concord. Last night the band stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform title track “Whiteout Conditions.” The lineup included Neko Case, who always records with the band, but doesn’t always perform with them. Watch the performance below.

Previously they shared the album’s first single, “High Ticket Attractions,” via an interactive lyric video, along with the audio for “This Is the World of the Theater.” Then “High Ticket Attractions” got a video and they shared the album’s title track, “Whiteout Conditions.” We also premiered a behind-the-scenes video showing the making of the “High Ticket Attractions” video.

Whiteout Conditions is the follow-up to 2014’s Brill Bruisers. Co-founder Carl Newman had this to say about the new album in a previous press release: “On other records it felt like sometimes it was very clear: oh, this is a fast one with me singing, and then the next would be a slow song with Neko [Case] singing. And I’ve always liked that in a White Album kind of way, being a band that just does whatever the hell they want from track to track. ‘Let’s try to give it a sound and see how focused we can make it.’ And on this record, I think we went a lot farther down that road.”
