Watch: Will Butler - “What I Want” Video (Featuring Actress Jennifer Morrison and Perry Farrell)
Policy Out Now via Merge
Will Butler has shared a new video for "What I Want." In it Butler and actress Jennifer Morrison (House, How I Met Your Mother, Once Upon a Time) go into a club filled with snotty and unruly young punk kids. They then use strange laser guns to turn the kids into boring, responsible adults (such as those who frequent coffee shops or are parents). Perry Farrell also shows up as one of those "boring parents."
Brantley Gutierrez directed the clip. Butler had this to say about the video in a press release: "Filming this video felt like a rock and roll laser tag birthday party. The kids were amazing—upbeat and hilarious the whole shoot. Such civilized anarchists. And—to mix metaphors, I guess—Jennifer Morrison was a real Albus Dumbledore, wise and unflappable and insanely talented. She truly classed up the rest of us muggles."
The song can be found on Policy, the debut solo album from the Arcade Fire member that was released in March by Merge. Check out the video below and read our recent interview with Butler about Policy.
