San Diego lo-fi artist Wavves (Nathan Williams to his family and friends) is bumping up the release of sophomore album King of the Beach. While you’ll still have to wait until August 3rd to get your hands on a physical copy, (CDs, remember those?) the album will be available via iTunes July 1st. Says the press release, “King of the Beach is an adventurous and ambitious record. It cuts deeper into the bleeding throat catharsis and '60s sunshine soul that Wavves is known for. It also unexpectedly flips out with elements of primitive electronics and psychedelic studio experimentation.”
