In an interview posted today on Pitchfork, Wolf Parade's guitarist and singer Dan Boeckner shared the skinny on the band's forthcoming third album, tentatively titled Expo 86. The title itself is derived from a shared memory among the band of a 1986 World's Fair in Vancouverall of the members grew up in British Columbia. At this point, the band is working with their wealth of material, which could reveal itself as a double album or one album with a smaller counterpart. According to Bockener, the album is heavy on the live feel with relatively few overdubs and is rife with dense and competing melodies, what he calls "a kind of wall of counterpoint."

No word on a release date yet, but in the meantime, Wolf Parade is about to embark on an extensive spring-summer tour.
