Yeah Yeah Yeahs Cover Big Star’s “Thirteen” for Spotify

They Also Did "Maps"

Yeah Yeah Yeahs released a deluxe reissue of their 2003-released debut album, Fever to Tell, last October via Interscope/Ume. It includes various bonus tracks, but apart from that the band haven't released any new music since 2013's Mosquito. Now they have done a session for Spotify where they have covered the Big Star classic "Thirteen," as well as performing their own classic song "Maps." Listen to the session below. But be warned that as we write this the tracks are currently mislabeled, with "Thirteen" actually being "Maps" and vice versa.

Last month Yeah Yeah Yeahs' frontwoman Karen O shared a new song, "YO! MY SAINT," that featured the guest vocals of Michael Kiwanuka and is part of the new Spring/Summer fashion campaign for clothing company KENZO (and was featured in a short film for the company).

"Thirteen" is from Big Star's 1972-released debut album #1 Record. The song was actually never released as a single by the band.
